MEOW!

Nostalgic Insights: None.
The 1/2-A-Second Opinon: Meh.
The 1/2-A-Minute Opinion: Movie musicals shouldn't bore you in the slightest, and Jesus Christ Superstar is an unfortunate bore from Norman Jewison, the director of Fiddler on the Roof. While some shots are nice and the concept has credibility, there is not one memorable song in Webber + Rice's score, and the direction this adaptation takes almost bears too much resemblance to Godspell, a refreshing perspective on interpreting the story of Jesus Christ. A live musical production of the same source remains to be seen, but for now, I give Jesus Christ Superstar on the Super-STAR meter:
Until next time,
KISS ME KATE
and MEOW, of course!
